Webcam for Linux Mint 9 laptop

I am using a laptop that is running the Linux Mint 9 on it. I want to ask that If there is any application that can be used for the webcam on my laptops. If you know the name of any such application then please let me know that. Also tell me that do I need to download an application otherwise the driver. I desire to make use of my web cam to build videos to place them on my website. I just utilize the KDE desktop GUI. I am not having the command line intended for anything yet. I have together KDE as well as Gnome on two laptops. In which one is from Sony and other one is from Acer. I exploit KDE on Sony with Gnome on the Acer. Please reply.

Are you not able to use the webcam in tour laptop? If that is the case then there is one more possibility that the driver for the webcam may not be working properly for you and so that is causing the problem for you. So you need to install the driver again in your laptop. If that is not able to solve the issue for you then you can try to search for the updated driver on web and if that is available then install that to your computer and this can resolve the problem for you.

You can switch to mint10 and see if that can solve the problem for you. I am using the same on my computer and not facing any problem like this. It’s very easy to search and install that to your computer. So in short you should switch to the mint10 and this can resolve the issue for you. This is the best way that I can recommend you right now but that is up to you that what you want to do. This is just a suggestion for you.
