    Finding contacts on Nokia E71

I found a quick software bug on my Nokia E71, when we start to type in a contacts name; it comes up with the matching contacts on the home screen. There is no need to go to contact application. I don’t know why my headset has stopped doing this. I honestly can’t think of anything that I may have done to change this. Can anyone give reasonable answer to fix this problem?

I got this solution by referring the manual book of Nokia. which comes with every Nokia cell phone. manual book contains all functions performed by particular headset. In that they mentioned to go to “Tools”. Then go to settings after that go to phone and make your first menu selection as “Call”. Once you entered in phone menu scroll down to the last selection. It should read “Contact search”.

If you want to do faster contact search on your Nokia E71 or in simple language say If you want to know how you can do Nokia E71 quick dial contacts for that you have to go to the tools and then in settings after that you have to go to phone following this go to call and at the last you have to scroll down as well as turn speed dialing on. If this does not workings then it is an issue with the Nokia E71, my speed dial works okay you cannot re-program the 1 key, it is set to voice mail by default.

I am with you but after doing what you are saying that you have to open menu > tools > settings > phone > call and at the last you have to go to speed dialing. This is where you turn Speed Dialing "On”. After that you have to open menu and then you have to open communications and then speed dial. This is where you set up your numbers which you use mostly in your daily use.
