Cannot charge Nokia N8

Yesterday, I dropped my Nokia N8 on floor by mistake and it switched off. After then I tried to turn that on again and it started normally and I used that for the whole day. On the same evening when I tried to charge the battery then it was not able to charge it. My power connection is proper and all the other mobiles are charging fine with the same charger. I tried to charge it with another charger but that was also showing me the same thing. So it is sure that the problem is with my phone but I am not able to judge that. Please tell me that what can be the possible reasons for this? Is there be something damaged in it that needs to be repaired? Please help me.

As you told that you have dropped your phone to round and after that it is not able to charge. So I consider that there may be something wrong with the battery in your phone. If it is possible then you can try to charge some other battery to your phone and is that is able to charge properly then this will confirm that the problem is with the battery and the only option that is left for you is to use a new battery. I don’t think that damaged mobile batteries get repaired.

I was also getting the similar problem and one of my friends suggested me to do the hard reset on my phone and I did the same and this worked for me. If you also want to try this, then you have to press menu button+camera+volume down+power button and this will start resetting your phone. I am still not able to understand the relation between hard reset and battery charging but this helped for me. Unluckily, all my data and the contacts were lost because of that. So I recommend you to take the backup of all of these before moving to format.

You can also try to check your battery in some other phone and see if that is getting charged there. If that is not having any problem in charging that then the problem is concerned with the phone. Pins that get connected to the battery may be damaged and so it is not providing the proper connection to the battery. So you should visit any mobile repairing shop and ask them to check for this issue. If the problem is same then they will change that pin and will solve the problem for you. But if that is under warranty then don’t do anything and just contact the Nokia care.
