Messages cannot be sent with Nokia 2310

I have a Nokia 2310 phone. It is a very simple phone as I needed because I just want the call and sms feature. But my problem is that whenever I try to send any message to any number then it just shows me the message that says, “Message cannot be send”. I tried to restart my phone but again it gives me the same message. This is happening from last three days and before that, it was working fine. Please tell me that what the reason for this problem is. Also let me know if you know any fix for this. Thank you.

It cannot be the phones problem. There is more possibility that the problem is with the SIM card that you are using. So the best way is to contact the service provider, I mean call the customer care. You will get their number in your SIM memory. If the problem is from the provider then they will tell you the reason for that and also the thing that you need to do to fix this problem. This should be your first step if you are getting the issues like this.

There may be something changed in the settings of your phone for the messages. So check for any such settings and if you get that then change it but it you cannot find that then you can restore your phone to its default factory settings (Soft Reset). You will get this in the settings section of the phone. So open the settings and the last option you will found as the Restore Factory Settings. As you click on that then it will ask you for the security code. Security code for all the Nokia Phones by default is 12345. Type this and press OK. After that it will do the rest the things on itself and you need not to do anything to it. After completing the process, your phone will be restarted and you will get all the settings to its default value.

If you are getting the message sending failed message while sending the messages then there is a small setting that you need to do. I am not sure that this will solve the issue but you can try and check whether it solves the problem for you. Go to the Menu > Messages > Message Settings > Sending Profile. From here you have to select the first profile which is highlighted. Normally it is there by default. So do this and I wish that this will solve the issue for you.

You should also check the message center number. This is there in the settings for SMS. It is not your number. This is a special number that is only used to send the sms from your phone. Make sure this with your operator and confirm that it is correct. If that is not correct then they will give you the number and you just have to set that number in your phone and you will be able to send the messages again. This is one of the possible ways to solve this problem.

Problem solved!!! I did the soft reset to my phone as suggested above and this takes all the settings to its default value and the problem is solved for me. But I need to do some settings again that I needed. So it’s the best way to solve any issue that is related to the settings and you are not able to get that setting to change.
