Touch power required for USB device in iPad

I am using iPad and recently updated with the latest firmware of the iOS. I am using USB flash card reader to download photo from my iPad. After the up grading with higher version of iOS it begun to consume very large amount of power. Now it became impossible to download media from the flash card. Any one having the same problem please let me know? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Well according to my opinion iPad are never supposed to charge external devices like card reader and also it doesn't support the same. Battery life of iPad reduced if you charge the USB driver with the iPad. To overcome power loading the limit of the USB is set to 20 mA. That's why its prompting constantly. There are certain rules which are changed for USB memory sticks in iOS 4.2.1. There should be directory named DCIIM on the memory stick. 100LEICA or 100NIKON name sub directory should be available in to DCIM. Make sure that there should be 8 characters and. Space is not allowed into name. All the files are stored in to sub directories. Same as above there should be no space in the name and it must consist of 8 characters.
