Lenovo W500 ThinkVantage Password Manager is not detecting fingerprint

I have been using ThinkVantage Password Manager for authentication purpose. My laptop model is Lenovo W500 which is running Windows vista 32 bit. Now my problem is the Password manager cannot recognize the finger print that has been signed up as a password for my laptop. When I put the finger print on the scanner it showing some error message that I haven’t enrolled the fingerprint yet. What can I do now? It is keep asking for my fingerprint and without this I cannot logon to my computer.

CSS Password manager is the useful software which I ever had in laptop. I think that the windows login password might have been automatically changed without your knowledge and because of this you are unable to login. Did you check the finger print scanner? Does it showing any light? Did you put the finger properly on it? Which finger you have enrolled as a password? Is it the right hand finger or left hand finger?

Did you install the current version of Fingerprint software? Did you install up to date version of Client Security Solution? Did you really configure fingerprint authentication on your laptop? Did you enable password manager? Find the answer for these questions first. I think that you might have done some terrible changes in password manager which is not for the current requirement.

I have never seen this kind of error before and it is not seems to be kind a familiar. Let it go away. I will tell you several configurations which might help you to solve the problem.
    • Open Client Security System
    • click the Fingerprint tab
    • Configure FPR to work in conjunction with CSS.
    • Reboot the computer.
    • Now open Password Manager.
    • Go to the Preferences on the top.
    • Make sure that there is no Internet Explorer and Mozilla in the exclude list.

I assume that you are getting the error message in a pop up window. Above you can see an option called “Manage” on the Password Manager link. There
    • Click Advance -> Manage security policy. This option might be on top right spot of CSS main Window.
    • There make sure that setting the defaulting rule is set mutually to password and fingerprint.
    • On the nest line you can see 'Log on to Windows'.
    • There change the 'Disable Client Security Logon Interface' to 'Use default policy for this user action'(First option)
    • Reboot the system and try again.

In case if you have already downloaded the latest version of CSS and Fingerprint recognition application, then install them properly. If you get any error while downloading then don’t use that application yet till you get the proper versions for your laptop. If you have good antivirus program then run a complete scan wizard to make sure that there is no virus behind it. Also install a latest version .NET framework and OS service pack. This might help you a little bit.
