    Power-up issue in Lenovo T61

We have installed nearly about 20 new Lenovo T61 over the last 2 weeks out of 20 of those 6 of them have come across an problem where they basically will not power up. There has not been mode to when this happens, but it is forever after the machine is shutdown then powered on later, say the next day. The resolution has been just removing the battery & then again replacing it. The laptop is then able to boot up normally. We have tried replacing the battery we new packaged batteries, though the issue continues again and again. Any reply as to thoughts or ideas of what is going on would be much appreciated. So please reply to this post so I will work it out.

I'm annoying to check out if that is the trigger for us for the solution (I observe that in a preceding thread). For the machines I have find out at, it would not power up when it was place on the docking station but it also would able to power up if it is taken off and has power plugged directly in to it. Nothing works awaiting the battery is reseated. We ended up distribution a machine to Lenovo in NC to try to reproduce it but they haven't been able to. When we sent it, I wasn't aware of the opportunity that the docking station might be reasoning this in some method If Lenovo check out what's going on, I'll let you know for the further improvement can be done for the power up problem in the laptop.

Lenovo T61 that stop due to power up running right away while unplugged the power supply to docking station shows that it has the power supply issue. If it comes the users can’t do anything because thereis something such a screenshot appears on Lenovo T61 monitor. There is the answer to fixed power supply issue on Lenovo T61 notebook, you need to find out the BIOS edition of your Lenovo T61 has. If your BIOS is lower than 2.10 edition, means you need to do the BIOS update. So first find out what BIOS version you have in your laptop , if it is not lower than 2.10 or 2.10 you will need to do a update the BIOS .

Avoid unpredictable OS performance if those devices misplace power, you should forever maintain the power to the dock stations cause Lenovo T61 advance dock station require constant AC power for utility. The BIOS update to the newer edition was adding the new characteristic that will allow you to stop legacy devices.
After that from your Lenovo T61 laptop you can go to Configuration => Dock Station => Legacy Devices as well as stop.
This scenery created on Lenovo T61 above will stop the ThinkPad from killing situation each time you misplace the AC power, but it will stop serial as well as devices that are connected to the dock.
