Does the Nokia N8 supports chinese characters?

I have recently purchased a brand new Nokia N8 and till now it is being working fine. I haven't faced any of the problems using it. But only one thing that is disturbing me is I am not able to read the Chinese characters on the mobile phone. I have stayed in china for more than two year and also have some friends over there and when these people send me messages then all the characters are seen to me in the square box as the messages are in the Chinese language. So is there is any way that will help me to read that particular message. Does anyone else have solved this language issue if yes then please let me know the way to do it.

No it is not possible to read that particular language, because if any language doesn’t support on the mobile than only it tends to give such square boxes. So there is no option rather than ignoring the messages. Or you can try sending the messages which support the Chinese language. What you have to do is forward the messages to phones which has the support to that particular language and then see whether you will be able to read the message or not.

Yes you can do it by installing the language pack. Just try and contact the Nokia support and then let them know the problem that you are facing and also tell them to install the language pack on the mobile phone of yours. What it will do is read all the possible languages of the leading countries. I am sure that if you will visit the service centre of Nokia located nearby you and tell them about your problem then they will definitely help you to solve the issue.

I think it is not possible for the mobile phone to read that particular language but you can make it possible. There is software called language translator which comes with the dictionary, yes you have to install the same on the mobile phone of yours. The translator will help you to convert any language in the language readable to you. And also it can read the language of each country. So you have to download that particular software on the Nokia x6 and then use it to its greater effect. Thank you for the suggestion I have downloaded the translator and also have installed on the mobile phone of mine and it seem that it is working fine. I am able to get the desired language in which I want to read the text. I hope so that this software won’t harm my mobile phone and will also work in the manner I want. But the thing is that is it possible to sent the translated script or text to any one. Since if want to reply for the sms then i would need the same language. So is it possible for me to copy the text that is translated

I dont think there is any application for the same. But you can make Nokia N8 read chinese fonts as well by doing some changes in its registry. Remember, it can cause serious damage as well to your device. If you understand the risk than here is what we need to do:

By default, Nokia utilizes Series 60 Sans Font Family where the default font is s60snr.ttf. First, on your device, you will need to seek for font names like nosnr60.ttf, nssb60.ttf, nstsb60.ttf, s60ZDIGI.ttf. Now copy all these fonts and paste it over a font onto X:\Resource\Fonts and copy it 4 times, with those 4 different names. That’s it.

I even tried much to find out such application for download, but dint got. Wonder from where Enos downloaded that software . But thankfully, the tip given by Maq.h worked for me. Also no need to download or install any third party application.
