Recovery of hidden partition on Acer 5542

I am having an Acer 5542 laptop. There are two operating system installed on it i.e. windows XP and windows7. There was a hidden partition created on my Acer system but while browsing over the internet the hidden partition was erased. I want to recover my hidden partition and I wanted a solution to recover it. Also give me some software that is capable of recovering my hidden partition.

On your Acer aspire 5542 you can check if the hidden partition is present or not. For checking you need to go to the My computer icon on the desktop. Right click on the My computer and select manage. Then you need to select disk management. After selecting disk management you will see all the local drives of your system including the hidden partition. The size of the hidden partition will be 8 MB. If the hidden partition is missing then you need to contact the Acer Company. Acer Company will then restore your hidden partition.

We can restore the hidden partition on Acer laptop by making use of NAPP CD. For the recovery of hidden partition from NAPP you need to follow the below steps

• Download the NAPP and burn it on a CD.
• Now you need to start the booting of system from the newly created NAPP CD.
• While booting the system will ask that if you want to create a NAPP master hard disk. Click on yes to proceed further.
• A menu will appear, select CD to Disk recovery from the given list.
• Now you need to put the recovery CD till it finishes the recovery.
• After the recovery is completed insert the system CD and you will get a “PASS” message and thus the hidden partition is recovered.

Suppose that you have checked your hidden partition in My computer/Manage/Device management and it is not visible. Then the only way to restore the hidden partition is by installing the clean set up of operating system again on Acer 5542. After the installation you can check your hidden partition by going My computer/Manage/Device management. In the device management window hidden partition will be visible.

To unhide the hidden partition you need to use PARTEDIT32. Before starting to user hidden partition you need to take the backup of all the data from the system. Start the booting of system in BIOS by pressing F2 key. Now you need to disable the D2D recovery state. After disabling, save it and restart the system again. PARTEDIT32 is software that will make your hidden partition visible on the laptop. Install the PARTEDIT32 and double click on it to open. After opening PARTEDIT32 choose your hidden partition in the hard disk. Now you need to set the column type in the partition table. You can also get the list of various types of partition by clicking the button SET TYPE. Now after the rebooting your hidden partition will be visible.
