    HD/DVD player not working

Hi all, I am using the Toshiba satellite A205 -S6812 notebook. Yesterday, I was just trying to play the DVD but was not able to get the HD/DVD player application. When I tried that then it shows me the message given below:

"Unable to output the video to an external device. Please switch your display device by pressing Fn+F5 keys after ending this application."

When I pressed the Fn+F5 key then it just shows me the LCD options. I do not want to project any output device, I just want to play any DVD on the laptop. Is there anyone who can tell me that what is the problem with the output device which it is requesting for? Thanks

I think that you have the problem with the player that is installed in your computer. It may be corrupted and that is why you are getting the problems like this. To fix this issue you have to install the HD DVD player again. Just click on the link below and this will download the app of HD DVD player. It is around 95MB file. Install that to your computer and that will solve the issue for you.

    Download the HD DVD Player.

Before downloading the file whose link is given below, you can try to reinstall the existing software. It is possible that some of the files from it may be corrupted and that is why it is creating the issue for you. Uninstall the one which in installed on your system and install that again. This will recreate all the files and may solve the issue. I was also facing somewhat similar problem as you told and I did the same as I told and it resolves the issue. If this does not help you then you can download the one suggested above and install that. Thank you.

This may be problem with the driver for your DVD player. It may be corrupted. You should uninstall that and give a normal reboot to your system. After restarting, again install the driver. Many of the time, I have seen that this solves the problems like this. If it does not solve the issue then you can search for the latest driver available on web. Download and install that. This may resolve the issue.

Thank you very much all for your replies. It was the problem with the driver and I downloaded the latest driver as suggested and this resolves the issue. Before this, I tried many things but all that were just useless. Finally when I updated the driver then it solves the problem. I recommend all users who are searching for the similar problem to do the same and this may help you also.
