Hello Friends, well again im in bit confusion. This time my confusion is related to upgradation of my PC. Well I was thinking to install Internal Sdd drive ? Can we install internal SSd drive if we are using Windows. As, I have heard that Windows 7 has enabled feature called Trim, whereas SSD drive does support trim? The acronym for SSD is Solid State Drive which is Storage Information device that uses solid state data to store the data. SSDs uses microchips and assures that the data is retained in the non- volatile memory chips. Where Traditional hard drives which uses electromechanical devices contains spinning disks and movable read/write disk. It also Uses Flash Player which retains the memory without power. It has one of the features that it does not require data persistence after power loss.

The price of SSD drive is very much high due to which it is unable to pull customers. But still SSD s perform very well on windows 7 due which it had made several changes to reduce the frequency of writes and flushes. Due to presence of Solid State Disk, Windows 7 will disable of some of its features , but still it will boost its applications and will launch prefetching . The features which includes are disk defragmentation , Readyboost and Superfetch.

Windows 7 has one of feature such as Trim function. But due to presence of Solid state Drive it will enable features such as disk defragmentation, Readyboost and Superfetch. T hese technologies were all designed to improve performance on traditional HDDs, where random read performance could easily be a major bottleneck. If Features such as Superfetch, Prefetch are disabled then the their registry value should be Zero, Both the features EnablePrefetcher and EnableSuperFetch must be set to zero.

The characteristics of SSD performance changes Windows Experience Index changes as there are new random write, flush assessments and lastly new random read. SSD has to have outstanding random read rates and be resilient to flush and random write workloads. There are no concerns regarding The Hibernate files and SSDs as hiberfile.sys is written to and read from sequentially and in large chunks, and thus can be placed on either HDDs or SSDs.

Some of the important things to know about SSDs are that it has bitlocker’s encryption process are optimized to work, where Media Center does perform anything special when configured on SSDs. As, SSDs do have advantages over traditional HDDs, SSDs are more costly per GB than their HDD counterparts. Raid Configuration in SSDs benefits SSDs with their reliability and performance. One more important thing to notice is that it operates Windows Search Indexer in same manner as it use to. It does not operate in different manner.
