As you have written that, Pinnacle HDTV is work on Windows operating system. I think to run it on your machine you can run dual boot system on your machine. You can run windows operating system as well as Linux on same machine and then through this you can use it. For run windows on the same machine you have to use VMware program and then use Pinnacle HDTV.

I have search through your question, from that I come to know that, Even exc4000 tuner card is not having support to Linux, so 340e will not work with Linux. I think Instead of that you should use Hauppauge PVR 150 cards having support for Linux, this card is cheap is price and work with IVTV drivers and its installation is also pretty easy. If possible replace your card with Hauppauge PVR 150.
