It seems that the issue is causing because of the ROM is not supporting the non-GPS platform. I think that Reliance Rom is not having the support for the GPS and that is why you are not getting the proper Internet connectivity with the device. Otherwise HTC touch Pro is having the nice ROM available which can work with the Non GPS model. This is what i know about same and hope that it will help you little to know about issue.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Internet Not Working

I agree with the upgrade of the HTC Touch Pro that is discussed in above post, but it was mainly reserved for hackers. Here are two ROM just been made available for the HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch Diamond. Installation is really simple and within reach of everyone. Unfortunately, drivers are not yet available and a lot of functions which are missing microphone, speaker, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc. but rest assured all part operates GSM (EDGE, 3G). Until drivers are available, do a test on your smartphone.

    • Download the ROM that corresponds to your smartphone and drop it in a folder that you name "tmp".
    • Connect your smartphone to your PC / Mac via USB.
    • Drop the folder "tmp" on the basis of your memory card.
    • Perform a soft reset on your smartphone.
    • Restart your smartphone, open the browser and open the file "haret.exe" located in the directory "tmp" as previously filed.
    • The first start will be a little slow, but then everything will be normal. So, enjoy your new system Android.

If you ask me then i will advise you to check for your data plan which might be not activated with the GPRS facility that can help you to connect through the Internet. There are lots of the plan available which does not contain the GPRS. You have to activate the GPRS for same. So if you can then go with the Reliance Data plan which will give you the access for the Internet. To know about the data plan go with the RCOM website which will let you know about the same.
