Is Dell Vostro worth buying ?

I have an old desktop system. I do not like to use it anymore because it is very old and has no life left it. I had to use it because I had no other choice because of my financial status. But now I am self employed, I now want a new system. My brother suggests me to buy a Dell Vostro 3700. I want a laptop that must be compatible with all the programming tools and games. The monitor size should be big enough about 24 inches and system should be of reasonable price. Are there any other laptop/notebooks of any other brand that matches my need?

I think you should stick with what your brother says. A dell Vostro 3700 has great performance you can compare it with desktop level as well. It has a virtual i7 processor with a dedicated NVIDIA graphic card specially made for it. 17.3 inch display screen and also has a memory card reader. You can easily operate on Windows 7 processor. The screen has a high definition with a Anti glare display. unlike all laptops it has a IEEE 1394 connector and 34 mm Expresscard. It is very light weighted and and has a long life 6-cell Lithium Ion battery.

First of all congratulations for your new job.I think you should go for ASUS K52JC-A1 smart notebook. Just check out its specification on Google. I think suits your requirements the most, it is also developed for multimedia and mobile productivity. But the monitor size is just above 15 inches. You had mentioned you will be content wit a notebook so I think no other notebook will fit than this notebook with your needs . As you need a system for gaming purpose as well, this notebook comes with a NVIDIA graphic card with DDR3 1024MB of VRAM.

You just do not only platy games on a laptop , if you are connected with a network you use it for surfing, you visit a lot of social networking websites, can remotely pay bills, can purchase movie tickets, check mails and a lot of things. In shot I mean to say that these days laptop is a center of doing each and everything related to the IT sector. So should consider other people's views but also set your expectation and think wisely before you invest. Set a budget and and your specification list and then finally decide.
