I tried to access the internet via the VPN connectivity by connect the MAC computer with the different networks, I tried this by the PC internet connections. But found that it does not responding after make the connection with the VPN server. I am having the Linksys WRT54G router. The MAC gives me same error message of to access the VPN server. What should I do? Any suggestion on this….

If you are using the Microsoft outlook application then make sure that the domain name that you are using for the make the connection with the VPN server is a correct, for using the exchange server. Also if the machine that you using to make the connect, if it is the client machine then check the ISO name of the internet service. It will combine the name of the DNS of the system. Check all the settings that you made for the connection with the VPN server make sure that these all of them are properly set with the server. I hope these will be over the problem that you are facing about the server connectivity.

In the network based infrastructure which includes the router-based firewalls, then all the functionality of the firewall will might b e discard form the network connection. And will may be disconnect the connection with the VPN server connection. For that you have to configure the firewall with the server connection, make sure that the firewall that you are having in your computer is properly configured with the firewall of the system, look for the network access option under the firewall setting, if you found that the access of the network option is disable then enable the option and the try to access the server to connect with the windows vista from the Apple Mac.

I also think that the problem is for the firewall of the machine, it can sometimes impair some of the network function with the machine that you are using for the VPN connectivity. The firewall of the machine should be between the application s that you are using, I mean that while you making the connection with the VPN server, the firewall are working in-between of them. this can stop the functionality of anyone o them. If you properly configure the application with both of them then this should be not create any problem in the connectivity. By this you can also control the synchronize and the Active Directory of the database of the server. You can also use the utility which is named as the ping, which is used to trouble shoot the problem regarding the network or the server. This is also known as the Internet Control Message Protocol in short ICMP utility. It basically used for the traffic control of the network, the firewall will allow that utility to make the connection with the server, it will not stop or break the connection, also not stop the functionality.

As per my knowledge the address of the network is designed to map with the IKE and the IPSec NAT-T traffic to a server to configure with the network, it also happens in the VPN connectivity. The client those are accessing the network from the outside of the network will require to configure the network with the help of the IPSec NAT-T. Are you used that one? Make sure that you make with the correct IPSec NAT-T name of the network that you are using. It will also help to run the bidirectional security of the network. if it not working with your server connection then recommend you to re-establish the security associations of the server connection that you are using. I hope this will help you to connect with the windows vista through the VPN network connection.
