How to make a facetime call from an iPod to a computer?

My iPod touch 4G and computer both are capable of doing video chat. But as far as I know these devices are unable to communicate with each other. I am using skype to do video chat from computer to computer. So I thought I can use my iPod Touch to make video chat to computer. But Skpe is not able to access that camera and it can only do voice call. Facetime is able to access the camera but it is incapable of calling to any one having device other than iPod touch or iPhone. Is there any way to make a video call from an iPod to computer using Facetime.If I can do video chat with another iPhone or iPod so why I can't use it to do video chat with a well equipped computer? Thank in advance for your valuable suggestion.

Even I want such application in order to make a video call using my iPod or iPhone to computer. But as far as I know at this time there is no such application especially designed for this purpose. we need to wait until apple or skype update their software to support this feature. Hope they update their application soon to make a video chat from an iPod Touch to a computer.

I think Apple will not allow skype to update software because then Facetime would die. So we can hope for Facetime to update for mac and computer. It is possible to make a video call from iPod to computer. For this you need to fring application. Download the fring application and connect with icq ,aim or msn and with other app. Hope this help you.

Thanks for your suggestion, but currently fring is unable to make a video call from an iPod to computer, it can only make video calls to other phones or iPod or iPhone. So there is no video call for computer that can connect fring. so I am uninstalling the fring as it is unable to do video-call from an iPod Touch to a computer. I like aim and skype interface better than this.

Yes this is possible, now there is an apple download for Facetime on Mac it is working fine but it is currently in beta format.You can download it from apple.com website. You need to confirm that apple ID and email address that you have registered on your mac is not same as you have on your iPod Touch otherwise this will not work. You are suppose to upgrade snow leopard in order to be able to download Face time for mac.You also need to include application combo update to 10.6.4 in order to be able to do video-call.

A lot of people are hoping to have an application to do video chat with friend and family. Fring would be a good option but fring does not no longer supports for video-call due to some conflicts between these companies.But there is an allication know as Tango video chat and it is available free for download on the application store.But this application is not updated to support new 4G ipod Touch. By the way apple released a beta version for Facetime to communicate between mobile and Macs. There is one more option yahoo messenger has recently updated support for video chat to make iPod or iPhone calls to computer.
