Cannot download iOS 4.1

I am having one issue which i am trying to work with. I am trying to download the iOS 4.1 firmware release for my iPhone but the problem is that it is giving me error. In starting it goes well but suddenly started showing me the error i.e. "There was a problem downloading the software for the iphone 'insert name'. The network connection time out." I am unable to resolve the same please help me. Thank you.

I think that this can be possible because of the Firewall or the Antivirus which might be blocking the connection with the device of yours and that is why you are facing the problem with the same. I will advise you to go with the disabling of the firewall as well as the Antivirus program and then check whether the download is working for you or not.

As your download stops in between then it seems to be the problem with the Server only. The server might be not working properly and disconnecting from the client PC. I will advise you to try the download later on with the Apple Server which might be booting and working fine this time. So try this out and see whether it is working for you or not.

Have you installed any of the update for the iPhone before? If you have any update previously then that might be conflicting with the same and causing the issue with the same. I will advise you to go with the deletion of the older update. To delete the update in Windows XP follow this path "\Documents and Settings[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates".

If nothing from the above replies are working for you and you are getting the issue with the same then i will advise you to contact the Apple regarding the issue which you are going through and ask about the download of the iOS 4.1. As they are the developer might be having the knowledge regarding the same. So try this out and see whether it is working for you or not.

It can be also possible the Internet connection is not proper and dropping the connection between the download and that is why you are getting the issue with the same. I will advise you to contact the ISP of yours and ask about the proper connection and then start download the update for the iOS 4.1. So do this and work with the issue.
