DELL Dimension 2400 won’t boot after memory upgrade

What in the world has happened to my laptop? I am having Dell Dimension 2400, running Windows 7 on it successfully. It was running well and without any trouble. Recently I installed a new memory for my system and after that I was unable to boot it again. I do not think that I have done anything wrong because of which this might have happened. I have taken utmost care that neither I nor my system would get hurt because of ESD. Is there anyone who has anything to say with regard to this?

See for the beeps if at you can hear them. It sometimes happens that when something is inserted in the CPU and you do not fit it properly in the slot the CPU gives you a beep as a warning, that the device is not installed in the slot properly. It happens sometimes that a gap remains between the connections and because of which you all get this kind of errors. Just let me know, if you are able to hear the beeps.

I have this time made myself quick. I knew that the CPU gives a beep when the new device or thing is not properly inserted in the slot. I, after installing the memory again on your request, tried to lay my ears for the beeps, but I could not hear even a single beep. The scenario was the same. Is there anything that you would like to suggest me to do? Please I am desperately waiting for the answers to flood here.

Well I am pretty surprised that you did not get the beep after you installed the memory, and in this case I think that you must have installed it right. If you would have not installed it correctly I am sure that you would have got the beep. I would suggest you to uninstall the new memory reinstall the old memory, and please make sure that it fits in the slot properly. Please let us know about this, my friend.

Before doing anything weird I would like you to see if the memory that you are trying to install is fully compatible with the system. I think that this could be the possible reason for the failure of the memory. Please visit the official website of the DELL and make sure that the NEW MEMORY meets the specifications that have been mentioned on the official site of the DELL. I think that you will get valuable information there.

Thanks for the suggestion Regina, but I do not think that the memory that I am using is incompatible in any respect with the system. I have already taken good care of this thing so that I do not end up buying a wrong peripheral for my system. Well I have dually checked all the specifications of the system and the memory and I am finding them absolutely correct as per the specifications. Can you all suggest me anything more?

Are you completely sure that the new memory that you are trying to install is completely installed. You have not yet replied about what happened when you went for installing the original older memory. I think that even did not move in your favor. Please make sure that you fully install it into the slot and lock it properly. Also while doing so, please take care that the RAM(s) is/are properly installed, because this can also be the probable reason for the failure.

It is pretty simple, all you have to do is use the compatibility mode of windows 7 to install audio drivers on any machine. All you have to do is right click on the file and then click Properties, after that click on the compatibility tab and choose from the drop down Windows 7 for the checkbox that reads “Run this program in compatibility for:" windows xp and start the installation.
