I am having the Skype application on my desktop computer and also in my iPhone but both are having the different icon on the screen. I am confused if I am using my Wi-Fi internet network at my home then the Apple mail will show the alert on it desktop in red number for the email received. It some time happens that my Wifi is working but my skype application is not able to connect with the internet.

As you are having the Skype application is not working on your iPhone when your wifi internet is on. Then just check out in the wifi is working with the wifi notebook or not and your are able to connect with the internet in a proper manner. If this is working properly then tere is a problem with your skype application . Just try to uninstall from your device and then reinstall it.

My brother is having the iPhone with the skype application. He is using the application on his laptop and also on his iPhone. He want to know that when any Skype user will call him then which will ring the iPhone or the desktop and he could not find any setting in preferences and does the iPhone gives the video calling during the conference call. If there is a mail receive then the skype will appear a pop up on the desktop and when any skype user will call you then the ring will be heard from the desktop you just have to sit near to the computer in order to hear that sound. It is the Skype wifi phone which act like the landline phone.The Skype is good for the iPhone and the desktop computer.

I am having the 3G iPhone and did the jail breaking on it. After that I was having the issue with my Skype application so to get solve with my problem I just not able to connect my Skype application wit my wifi. As my Wifi is working fine with my laptop. So, I just reboot my phone in which I did a temporary sloving my problem. So even you can try this which will help you to solve your problem at temporary basis.

I was having the same problem so I used to reboot my phone but it was only for the short-term repair of my phone. Then I did the jailbreak 2.2 on my 3G iPhone and then after the jailbreaking and then go for the installation of the software one by one and then enable your WIFI and then install the Skype on your phone and then you will find that your problem is resolve. I have used this on my iPhone and it helped me a lot so even you try it on your phone it might help you to get solve with your problem.
