    Gateway 6860 - Dead screen?

I have a Gateway 6860 laptop. At times, my screen flashes , and then the screen goes black. However , seen from a certain angle, I can still distinguish the display and the laptop runs normally without problems. The cards are nvidia Quadro FX 1500 and 1700 . The project works well when I left on one card no matter on which I work. Does anyone have an idea to solve the problem ? Thank you very much for your help.

Several possible causes , but it appears that the probable cause is the transformer or the battery, Also note ,my pc seems work better when it is on batteryThat when the mains. This is not a certainty, but if it does not in battery , it is very possible that an overheating transformer. Maybe the refresh rate or a screen that begins. Try another transformer to see if it 's him. Try cleaning the contacts even when the battery and transformer, If necessary, try to plug a normal screen on the rear side jack the laptop normally see if it does the same thing .

Problems with the image displayed on the LCD screen of a laptop may be the result of various causes, ranging from a faulty video card , cables in bulk, bad mother for having a defective screen . In this case , we can usually see the illuminated display , but it does so with a distorted picture. NOTE! Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter from the laptop before installing the screen New ! This is necessary to put a video card to recognize your new screen. A problem of video may also occur if a battery or power adapter has been connected during the installation .Backlight issue may be caused by a faulty cable or free , defective inverter , non - functioning bulb CCFL backlight or power failure of the motherboard to a UPS.We can do this simple check backlight.

You need to plug the connector B in the drive . C connector must be connected to the ribbon cable from the video card. A connector should be disconnected . Powering up the laptop. If the backlight is OK, you will see a white screen with no picture. If there is no white screen , there may be one of the following questions :
    - Inverter is not powered by the motherboard
    - Ribbon Cable bad
    - Defective UPS
    - Dead screen backlight bulb

Display problems of different images caused by defective motherboard ( video card ), cables , bad connections, bad screen etc. If any of these photos shows an image that is very similar to the one you see on your laptop screen , do not jump to conclusions , because only a professional diagnosis is able to accurately determine the cause. Connect the screen to the old laptop to ensure that the laptop still works with it . Even if the screen is cracked , there must be a spot or a portion of the screen with an image . At the very least, the screen should light , indicating that the backlight is functional. If so , reinstall the new screen - it must have been a bad connection.

Connect the new screen and it still has no picture , check connectors A , B and C as shown in the picture below .
    A. Video Cable - video input Screen
    B. Inverter - Backlight Connector (May Dell monitors come with this connector disconnected, please be sure to reconnect )
    C. Power Inverter Cable - Power to drive to the motherboard
In addition , make sure the video cable is properly connected to the motherboard . This , in most cases , requires you to partially disassemble your laptop .
