    Asus G73JH 5870m and PowerPlay

It is possible the radeon 5870m (especially the Asus G73JH) teach that the clock rates automatically adjust the situation? I would like the set so as to desktop Radeon too. In 2d mode is the thing with the low clock frequency 300MHz, work and running as soon as 3d is the chip power up to the full 700mhz. I just want to not constantly have clocked the GPU 700mhz, because of the current strength of the ventilation. For as soon as the GPU makes the idle only 300MHz, the ventilation, and the book is then really super-silent reduced. In short I need some information related to PowerPlay.

I am also in need of similar thing, currently, I make do with two different Power4Gear profiles, which I have adjusted accordingly - the "performance" takes always 700mhz, the "Entertainment" always with the 300MHz, whether battery or mains. I just need to switch manually. If I come in on a multiplayer map, it jerks with 300MHz. often I have to move out, switch to full power - and the map reload.

For finding the solution for this problem I have also tried to implement this feature with catalyst profiles, as from the desktop computer used to. There you can edit the xml file of the profiles, and for the different load conditions (below the overdrive option) the clock rates for gpu and ram pretend clean. In the notebook but I cannot save the profile with overdrive settings, here I am not a catalyst in overdrive. Can you somehow unlock the overdrive in the drivers? I will be waiting for the related reply.

The problem is as far as I know 5870m is a general problem. It is not on the Asus. Many in U.S. with the selfsame book, with ATI but NEM Clevo complain about it too. Do I have to say but it just flew over and I am not sure if there offers a solution or not. If nobody here answers look at times past notebook review site. Maybe even find something there.

I have now ordered a W860CU with 5870. As for me has always surprised at the test here is the battery life by 5870 compared to 285m shorter. Normally it would be analogous to the large desktop models: the 5xxx are in idle much more economical than equivalent Nvidia counterparts. The 5870 runs contrary to the Nvidia cards: You clocked at low stress is not down automatically! As you can press the Catalyst what you want.

According to me the problem is known. Currently it is probably only make do with manual switching with profiles. In idle my 5870m clocked at 200 / 250 at 0.8 V > 42-45 degree. It was last but the VBIOS. Had the times mentioned. I hope this will help you to solve the problem that you are facing, if you have any other problem then let me know about that.

My 5870 is installed in two weeks well with the profiles can man live so at least. Maybe yes NEN bios comes up sometime. Personally I am glad that there are such lappie. If I put 24 hours before the plug in the socket if man is traveling abroad a lot in the professional, there is nothing better. One more thing where have you been the VBIOS from?
