I had faced the same problem before on my acer aspire laptop but I find the solution for notebook
    1 - open your Acer.
2 - Acer ePower Management go.
3 - turn pale when one thinks such known process through.

Remove the screws from the rear panel widest, this is where the ventilator is so remove the panel, The ventilator is fixed with two screws (do not unscrew the small screws). Remove dust clogged the slot (it was so dense that I got parru at first like a sponge placed by the manufacturer, but in fact it is a condensate dust). Vacuum the dust with a vacuum cleaner and close. This solved the problem, My PC and again became silent, stopped heating goes off and does more.

I have a software to see temperature and I was in the processor with the 60 degrees and the GPU (the processor core was at 70 °). My laptop is 8 months old, after reading your comment I decided to disassemble the cover or is the cooling process and I saw a HUGE layer of dust that blocked all the ventilation I cleared it with a toothbrush and the cotton swab. Since then my GPU runs less than 58 ° and 45 ° 2 Processor.

Most models are equipped with a fan that goes to stir the air out when the internal temperature rises. The disadvantage is that this fan is small and therefore hardly to the task. This often produces significant hearing discomfort. Besides the extra power consumption involved the use of a fan reduces the autonomy of the portable pumping the precious energy stored in the battery.

The cause of a power line may be overheating of your CPU. A security system built into your computer, cut power when the components exceed a certain temperature. Otherwise, the chips may melt! The Athlon XP, for example, more than 85 ° C. .. And this type of incident does not occur only on hot days. Just as your CPU is placed, for example, near a heater on, in a tight space prevents proper air circulation, or if you just pushed the frequency of your processor. The temperature in the enclosure then increases rapidly. As new processors, operating at high frequency, tend to generate more heat, the threshold can be reached very quickly.

    1. First Attempt to aspirate as much dust as possible with your vacuum cleaner hose to avoid pushing too far into the intricacies of the system. Then use the compressed air.
    2. Try to prevent the fan blades from turning while you blow or aspire because they could exceed their maximum speed, which can damage and even produce electricity and damage components: block, for example, with a toothpick or, better, a finger taking precautions to prevent damage. It's a delicate maneuver.
    3. Warning, some compressed air bottle containing liquid to be released if they are addressing. Always keep the cylinders with the head up.
    4. If the laptop is hot, try to install small legs so that air circulates under the computer.

It looks indeed a problem of overheating. The first step is to clean with a can of compressed air. But sometimes this is enough. Some laptops have been poorly designed (the manufacturer has to try too with components that overheat) and suffer a constant temperature too high. If you can not settle it by increasing the speed of your fans with a software (free) as SpeedFan (which, it must be said, also increase the noise), there are cooling devices (Notebook Cooler) which you may use.
