DROID : Where do I save files on the storage card?

I have Motorola Droid. I have bought it 3 days back. I have bunch of movies, music, etc. I just want to know that when I have connected my phone to pc via usb and I can see the music and movie very fine nicely. So where do I move the music and movies files? When I open my phone memory I can see only two folders that is DCIM and LOST.DIR. So where I put my movies and songs from these folders ?

I just want to tell you that I am not tat much exper even though I will tell you the same thing which I have did. I have also bought a phone few days back. But I'm in the process of moving music files from my PC to the droid.I am also facing the same problem then I have decided to save my track to a global folder it is not within the dcim or lost.dir folders and Droid will recognize it and it will play it by itself. So don't worry just add the content without worrying about those folders.

I don't get it then what you use to play your songs. I am still not able to see the file. Problem with me is that when I click on the Music application, It says that SD card is busy even though if transfer is completed. I don't know what is going on there. If you have any idea then please inform me.

For this I have a solution and I think it will help you a lot. First you download one software that is AndExplorer and then install it. This software you can download freely. And then create a music , video and document folders on your card. And after it using AndExplorer you can simply tap on the file and the appropriate application opens the file. And one more thing if you have multiple application to open then it will ask you that from which app you want to open your mp4 files for video. It will fix your problem.

I think I got you problem. First thing from this which I have calculated that you put your files anywhere. So to fix this problem you have to make folders called "Music", "Movies" and "Documents". Put your all music files in iTuneMusic o the sdcard in the "Music directory", and al your music file will be opened in the music player applcation.

I think you have given the right answer but the problem is that where is that iTuneMusic folder. I think by mistake you forget to mention that. But I have google it then I found the directory which I want to share it. As you said that create a folders of name Music, Movies and Documents. And after that put your music file in the iTunesMusic. And path of that directory is /Users/myname/Music/iTunes/iTunesMusic on your sdcard. Now your music player will recognize all your music file.

I was facing the same problem. But after reading your comment I have did the same thing. In that I have created a Music folder and put all my music file in that. Then I have kept my folder in the same directory that is Users/<myname>/Music/iTunes/iTunesMusic. And after doing all that I have opened my music player application. But it was not able to play music file at that time. But when I have restarted my phone then it recognize all the music files. Now it is working properly. Thanks for your comment.
