    Droid broken micro usb port

I have bought Moto Droid before 1 month back. It was good at that time but 2 days back I have noticed that the micro usb port a little loose, then started getting more and more loose. Finally I noticed what seemed to be a crack where the body lines come together. Now I can Only able o charge it.And I noticed the protective case I purchased is so tight I can barely get it loose from the phone. When I was using it in my car so that cable was short chord become tight when I plugged in. I don't think so it pulled so enough to crack port. Any idea what to do ?

This same thing has happened with me but I was lucky at that time. I would tke it right into verizon and explain the situation. At that time it was in warrenty period as it sound like a mnufacturers defect and they should be able to see that. I had one Moto rockr a few years ago back, they have replaced both without any question. But the thing is that charging port should not be loose and verizon should replace it under the warrenty. If they will give you any trouble at the store, call their phone number and then complain. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I got wondered by seeing the issue which is related to micro usb port or charging cable. Because when you know that your charger cable is so very short when you charge it by cable in your car and Because of that it apply stress on the charging cable just behind the rubber reinforcement at the micro usb plug. So when you know this so you have to take precaution. Now just go to shop and if it is under warrenty period then replaced it.

Yes guyz broken USB port is now become the one of the most common problems. I am saying all that because I have seen so many problems related to USB port in my office it self. Because with 8800 and otehr newer models, RIM has added two contacts, one on the bottom of each side of the phone, so it could be used in a desktop charger. In this it wouldn't sync with USBport, but but you could easily charge it without straining that fairly delicate connector. No real need to use the usb except for charging. And for the moto Droid, I would like to see a similar feature, other than charging I rarely need to connect my phone to my PC. I ghope soon I will get the solution of it.

Hey friends there is a good new which I want to share with you is that from 18 to 2 years months there has been a push in the mobile phone industry to standardize on a charging connector in order to reduce waste from having to purchase different chargers and cords when you swap phones. So I think it is great relief from micro usb connector problems.

One thing is that mini USB better and definitely very easier to insert. But one thing which I have read that. There is breaking point in the mini USB that is much stronger with the micro usb. Company is making same model in two version. These changes have taken place only because of the European people. One model is with mini usb and other model is with micro usb.I think mini usb have won on the micro usb.
