Black screen issue with Motorola Droid

I have a Motorola Droid phone and the problem is that when I turn on the phone I get a black screen. I do not what could have been the problem. This happened when suddenly the front side four keys were not responding. Also the power off button. So I had to remove the battery and then put it back. Then I got a black screen. Please help me out for the same. It will be better.
