Issue with Nokia N97 Mini and wireless connection

I own a Nokia N97 mini mobile phone and the problem is with the connection to wireless router that I have. Whenever I try to connect the phone through internet it gets connected via wap instead of wireless router that I have. I have no idea for the same. Please do help me out so that I can make the thing to be worked and issue to be sorted well that is needed. Hope to get a better and proper conclusion to get sort the issue.
