I had purchased a Dell Inspiron model inthe range of price what you have told. You can also go for Vostro. The one thing which I prefer dell is the warranty and after sales support. It offered me a 1 year warranty and I paid a little amount extra and got 3 year warranty. The customer support after that is also quiet nice. You must first check that.
