    Email problem on iPhone 4

I need some help in configuring mails on my iPhone 4. I just purchased this and I am using mobile internet now. The net is very slow in that. For a bit speed I want to configure this to the wifi network. I have a 2mbps internet line which I had configured on Livebox. Now my does not detect it and I am not aware about the settings also. I cannot send or receive any mails from it. Is there a way by which I can put a fix IP. Thanks.

To put a fixed IP is a bit complicated and you really does need to do anything if you are using dhcp auto. Do you see the name of your network on the iPhone. If yes then you just need to put the wep key and you are in. Also check that below the names of all networks the confirm access is either enabled or disabled. In the top left of the iPhone you can see the signal strength.

There can be two possibilities in this. First if you can see nothing then that can be a hardware problem which is rare. The other is there can be a software issue. You might need to reset your phone or run any update for the same. When you connect to wifi the iphone scans for some wireless network there and you can see them easily. If the connection drops then that is a hardware issue.

Once you scan the system for wifi the the WEP key is returned in uppercase and no spaces. So typing mistake can be a particular problem for that. It is best that first you get your password and only then try to put together all the setting with your livebox. Before validating the password that allows you to use the wifi network check that there is not much distance between the wifi signal.

Wep key is used to protect your wifi network. There is a simple applicaiton called IWEPS which is indeed useful to to connect to some wireless networks locked even if we do not hold the key to protecting them. So just look for the application and download the same. It is a very easy to application and you can just run it to get a wifi network. Once got just click it and enter the same.

It is necessary that your iphone must have full internet access so that you can get mails properly. Here are some basic steps which can help you to fix. Go to settings and then select Wireless. Now move the little slider to the right side and then click on confirm access. Select the small blue arrow on your network and go back to the main menu where you can see settings. Choose WiFi in that and click on your network.

I am using IWEPS 0.1 which is a beta version and has many limitations. You can ry this to connect only to networks identified as WLAN_XX whose BSSID is 0:02 type:FC. Other standards does not support it. You does not need WEP key in that for accessing any wireless network. But it does not work for all. You can atleast use this for your home where you does need to play with the settings.
