    Songs get corrupted on transfer

I played the same song on my PC and playing well but when I transfer the same music files from my system to my ipod using iTunes and they get corrupted. The corrupted file don't mean that they are not being opened to play. They play in normal way upto a specific section in the song where it would suddenly move ahead one second or two, or play within a painful way, high-pitched, squeaks, and then switched into normal way again. The original voice of the song is not getting processed . What could be causing the issue and how should I resolve this ?

In which one way, you transfer the file from system to iPod. Commonly every users always uses the USB cable for this purpose and I am sure, you also using the same method. In this case, you should use the new cable for this or replace the cable with another port .Did you try to use some different USB cable or USB port? That can resolve your issues...

May be the same file is supported in the system but when you are going to try the same on iPod then may be the older AAC files may be causing the issue to play that files .. If you are trying to play an AAC file which was not made in iTunes or downloaded from the iTunes Store, it coluld not be played . The songs that you have download from the iTunes Store or import into your library wiht the help of AAC encoder are encoded in MPEG-4 AAC format, and will play in iTunes as well as on your iPod. Older AAC files which you find on the internet or some other location may not play in iTunes.

I was also listening a playlist on my 4G iPod and the same time , I figured out that it skipped a song. To investigate, I connected it into my Mac and tried to play the same one via the iTunes, but instead a small exclamation point came up next to it in the list, suggesting that the file was destroyed or missing. After some more investigation displayed that 28 of 399 songs had the similar issue, and Disk Utility didn't consider anything was suspect.

The best one fix that I found is to just select entire songs from the iPod's and use the Get Info window to set the rating on every file to 1 (be constraint that you don't modify anything else). When it's completed , sort the list according to the rating to group the damaged tracks together ..

I definitely suggest you to using a section which you don't use (BPM and Grouping are mostly used much less quickly than Rating). And Also , I don't think, you require to remove the songs from the iPod. If you are using auto-updating, the songs will all be cloned on next update (because the configuration which you made will make them newer than the iPod versions). If you are using manual-updating, according to me , you can just choose the songs in iTunes and drag them to your iPod. It will update the songs in place, saving the ratings, playlists, etc.

I am still running with this issue after going through the proper wipe procedure and also did the reinstallation of my netbook, updating my netbook's firmware, made the reinstall of itunes and downloaded the actual music, netbook memory upgrade, trying entire tagged USB ports and no less than four transfer cables.

Turns out it's not just music getting damaged , but everything you transfer to the iTouch, as well as the OS and firmware if you try to go for the porper reset. Yes, I have tried the resetting and it properly bricked my iTouch. Had to send it back to Apple for repair.

I would like to tag the second comment. As you stated that don't go for that , running with any situations ..You should try for a proper reset of your iPod touch, if you are running with this issue and I would like to add, take to the store, let them brick it.

I was running with the same problem , did the reset/restore/re-install trying to fix these issues. After some time it terminated right in the middle of the restore operation and hasn't switched on since. This one requires to move back to Apple.
