Sync with Itunes to add file in Ipad

    Hello,
I intend to buy a IPAD, I currently own a macbook, but during my many trips, I find it a bit bulky and heavy. I will use between one for watching movies and series, which for most of. AVI. Is able to read the IPAD. AVI? Instead, he must convert before viewing? Another question concerning the management of files: I come from a friend and I want to retrieve files on his computer: I can transfer them as if I put on a USB key? Or for adding any file, it must synchronize with itunes? In advance thank you.

    Hello,
If I believe what Apple's site says is this:
H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.1 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in. M4v,. Mp4 and . mov, MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio . m4v,. mp4 and. mov, Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio format ulaw, PCM stereo audio in. avi
And I would say that sync is mandatory an iPod Touch, though I am not sure of this.

Thank you for your message, but I do not really understand, "PCM stereo audio in. Avi. Or if in any case have to go through a synchronization to add a file to be without me, I do not see much use for a product that requires a mobile computer to an action as simplistic. If the file handling is the same level as that of an iphone, what remains the difference between the iphone and ipod? Any more information will interest me.

    Hello,
For your videos, you necessarily have to convert (in mpg in. Mov or other formats supported by iPod / iPhone / iPad and therefore iTunes). A simple Google search will show you lots of ways to convert your videos. Me I use HandBrake, which offers more specific file formats and media such iPhone, PSP, TV etc.. I guess I am correct here and it will help you.

To transfer files like any product with iPhone OS, use the function as a USB key is still unavailable. So you should always go through iTunes. So you walk around with your computer and / or manage your iPad sync manually, not to have lost files from various libraries. And yet, I have not tried the manual sync with multiple iTunes libraries. Especially if one more of you, your friend or you, have the misfortune of not having the same OS on your computer. Type you use your Mac with your iPad, and your friend has a Windows PC, I'm afraid it might be complicated. Again, this scenario does not happened to me yet, so this is speculation based on my use of iPod nano (for USB mode and more). On a non-iPod iPhone OS, the firmware is formatted Mac OS or Windows, the scope of re-formatting is necessary if we move from Mac to Windows. For products iPhone OS I have not yet been confronted with it.

The avi format is supported the motion-jpg, meaning it accepts films from a camera. For. Avi divx corresponding to it does not read them, was supposed to have purchased movies from the iTunes store or making an import DVDs into iTunes that is a. .. politically understandable but there are alternatives, such as Handbrake already cited and very effective.

In fact, its autonomy, its weight and size interest me enormously, and I find it unfortunate that this product does not support something as basic as reading. AVI, or there is not a function as convenient and necessary for adding files. This would still be interesting to eg send or receive files by simply plugging into a USB port.
