    This issue can be fixed

Usually these type of error happens on your laptop with a display lighted up by a Compressed Florescent Light (CFL) lamp. Most of other units have a display lighted up by a CFL lamp. I would recommend you to check whether your inverter is working properly other wise simply replace it. This problem will be solved.

I am using the same laptop and the back light is working quiet profusely and hence i would suggest you to try a factory settings since this will help you to get rid of this problem. Since i have 2159 and it shows 349 backlight hours. I just did a Factory Reset and the backlight hours and this problem was resolved.

This error arises whenever there is a wire cut between the mainboard and the display. If this is no the issue then for sure it would be because the inverterboard is bad or your backlight is shot.

To resolve this error you will have to open your laptop and if you do not have any kind of experience then i would suggest you to take help from an hardware expert.

Re: Procedure to check whether the CCFL is working

It may also be because of a defective CCFL backlight if your screen flashes red/pink and then off.to check it more precisely i would suggest you to connect an external monitor with your laptop and then power the monitor up before powering up the laptop. If it is possible to see the normal images then laptop is working properly and the video card is also working normally. CCFL is the problem
