Connection / signal hunting problem in HTC HD2

I am facing a weird problem with the new HTC HD2 phone which I have bought recently. The phone frequently suffers problem with searching network. When I am connected to the web, the phone continuously jumbles between 3G and EDGE and when this happens the phone is not able to receive calls on it. I checked if it is a network problem by inserting the same phone in other phone and the phone worked properly. Is anybody else facing Connection / signal hunting problem in HTC HD2? Please help.

It seems to be a network problem and hence I would suggest that you take the phone to the Customer care center of the service provider and get the phone checked. If the phone is having any problems then it will be replaced by a new unit but if the problem is with the network which you are using then there is nothing much you can do about it.

The phone which you are using is a 3G compatible phone and hence the phone will not work properly if the SIM card which you are using is not 3G compatible. If the SIM card is not 3G compatible then the phone will not be able to search for the network. Hence get the SIM card of the phone checked and if the SIM card is not compatible with 3G then get it replaced with a SIM card which is compatible with 3G. After replacing with a 3G sim card, see if the phone works properly.

Try doing a Soft reset and see if it works. The operating system installed on the phone sometimes gets stuck in a loop while executing any application. If the operating system gets stuck in a loop, some features of the operating system will not work properly. To bring the phone back to working state, you will have to perform a soft reset. To perform soft reset, click on Start and then select settings. Click on Restore factory settings button and select Yes. Before starting the restoring process, take the back up of any data on the phone memory. Let the procedure complete and then see if the phone still searches for network or not.

The problem which you are facing is due to the firmware of the phone which is not working properly. Firmware of the phone is nothing but the operating system. If the operating system is corrupt then the phone will not work properly. Hence you will have to get the firmware of the phone updated. To update the firmware of the phone, take the phone to the authorized service center of HTC and get the firmware replaced. After replacing the firmware, you will not face the same problem again.
