Packard Bell Easynote XS20 Powerup issue

Hello there, I have a Packard Bell Easynote XS20 laptop which is installed with Windows XP operating system. The laptop was working fine till yesterday when the laptop shut itself down while downloading some data from the Internet. Now whenever I press the power button to start the laptop, all the LED's glow but the laptop does not boot. So if anybody is facing similar Power up issues with Packard Bell Easynote XS20, then please share the information which might help me in solving the issue. Is this some hardware failure?

It is possible that the operating system on the computer has got corrupt and failed due to which you are not able to start the computer. Operating system of the computer has lot of files which are associated to it. If any of the files which is associated to the operating system gets corrupt or is missing on the computer then the operating system will not work properly. Therefore if you have the installation disk, insert it in the drive and boot the computer from the disk. Select the "Repair Windows installation" option and let the procedure complete. Once the procedure is complete, see if the problem persists or not.

Most of the laptops face the problem with the residual charge. Residual charge gets stored near the RAM chips. If the voltage near the RAM chips reaches a threshold level then the system will not be able to access the RAM chips. If the system is not able to access the RAM chips then the system will not boot. You will have to discharge the residual charge in order to bring the laptop back to working state. To clear the residual charge, shut down the computer and disconnect the laptop from the AC source. Remove the battery and press the power button for about 30 seconds. Replace the battery and see if the laptop boots or not.

Motherboard of the computer is responsible for controlling all the functions which are performed by the computer. It is responsible for providing correct voltage levels to all the devices which are connected to the computer. Therefore if the motherboard of the computer is faulty then you will not be able to use the computer properly. Hence I would suggest you to get the motherboard of the computer checked and if the motherboard is found faulty then you will have to replace the motherboard. Once the motherboard is replaced, you will not face the same problem again.

Re: Packard Bell Easynote XS20 Powerup issue

All the files which are needed for the operating system to boot are first loaded in the system memory and then executed from there. I think the RAM of the laptop has been dislocated due to which the system is not able to access the RAM. As the system is not able to copy the files which are required to the system RAM, it is not able to boot. Open the laptop and remove the RAM chips from there respective slots. Clean the connecting terminal and replace them back in their respective slots. If there are multiple RAM chips then try and boot the system using Single RAM chip at a time. If for any particular RAM chip, if the system does not boot then discard the RAM chip as it may be faulty.
