What is podcast in Nokia 5230

I have recently purchased a new brand "Nokia 5230" mobile phone which is fully touchscreen and with easy user interface. I know all about this mobile phone, the applications with it, what are the use of all the application. Nokia provides all the functions similar to the older phone, and they do not create new option and tools that is not understandable. I found an option in the music menu which is "Podcast", i just wanted to know what is the use of this features in this mobile.
