Need information on Nokia Meego platform

    Hi,
I need some information on the new coming Nokia Meego platform. What is it and what it offers as compare to android phone. I was going through my mails and I found a news in it denoting this. That means Nokia is going to provide a entire new platform for mobile devices. But the issue lies with connecting the same with other devices. As today maximum mobiles of Nokia work with no worries on PC's and Internet.

Re: Need information on Nokia Meego platform

Meego is a Linux based new platform that will support the role of copy for a range of gear fairly consistent (including netbooks and tablets). Reaffirming also the library Qt application development, the stakeholders (especially developers) can create their own applications and use them on other interfaces, including Nokia's Symbian. It is already possible for budding developers to develop their future applications via Qt.

Meego will soon be through the Ovi shop for all Nokia devices (assistance available on the Nokia forums) and the AppUpSM Center for Intel. The two main companies concerned should be registered in the communities and Moblin.org Maemo.org to join the newly Meego.org. The first version of the platform is planned for the second half of 2010.

Maemo is well known users of the Nokia N900 is is based on Linux. Moblin, which is developed by Intel, is also a Linux OS. The two companies will then merge their OS to form one Meego. Meego is Linux, it will be freely licensed and hosted within the Linux Foundation. Meego is obviously intended to smartphones, but also will work on mini-PCs, tablets or televisions connected.

Re: Need information on Nokia Meego platform

Meego supports multiple hardware architectures and can therefore operate with Atom processors but also ARM for example to allow penetration into mass market. Meego combine existing Moblin and Maemo to give benefits for tablets, mediaphone TV and online surfing. The applications can thus run on several types of materials. This system may well take advantage of content available both on Ovi Nokia Store that Intel AppUp Center.
