Apple itouch freezes

I have a "apple" first generation "iTouch iPod" and i am using it from the last two months, the problem is that on day i was doing recovery on my itouch ipod and by mistaken the cable was disconnected from the computer. When the cable was disconnected my ipod was freezed on the progress bar and because of this i can't shut it down. After that when i reconnect my itouch the computer doesn't seems to recognize my itouch ipod. I am in a need of a good advise to solve my problem, i can't afford new itouch.

You are saying that your itouch is freezed and you cannot do anything here is some basic method to unfreeze your itouch.

• First you may need to charge your iPod touch, i think it needs charging.
  
• You can try to press and hold the Home button for six seconds.
  
• If the above method doesn't work then turn off your iPod touch and on it again.
  
• You can also press and hold the button of Sleep/Wake for a few seconds until a red slider appears and when it appears then drag the slider. After that press and hold the Sleep/Wake button till the logo of Apple appears.
  
• If the above also does't work than you can just reset the iPod touch. One more time press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and also Home button for ten seconds until the logo of Apple appears.

If your iPod touch continues to freeze after you resetting it then you can just follow some steps. You can reset iPod touch settings by going to the home screen and choose Settings> then go to General> then to Reset> and after that Reset All Settings. After doing this your preferences will be reset, except your data and media. I thick this might work with you so that you can access your itouch because it worked for me and till now i am not having any problem.

I was also having the same problem but sought out with doing some basic steps to recover my itouch completely clean. You can do the following steps which i have mentioned below: If the above mentioned posts by other people doesn't work with your itouh then you can do on thing you can just erase all the content on iPod touch by going to the home screen there choose Settings> then General> then Reset> and finally do "Erase All Content and Settings." All your data and media files will be removed from your iPod touch.

You can also do one thing that you just hold the top button and the power button at the same time for atleast ten seconds, by doing this it will take you to the recovery mode. When you find the recovery mode, connect to the computer and restore it. If it take time to get in the recovery mode then you can plug it in the power adapter and then put it into the recovery mode, after all the proedure is done then restore your itouch.
