Installing 4GB RAM on MacBook

Hello,

I just wanted to know if it was possible to install two strips of 2 GB on the MacBook White released in May 2007, it seems that Apple showed a trend up to 2 GB (2 x 1GB RAM) but the models released in November it was possible to install 4GB (2 x 2GB)

So can someone tell me if they can install or if it is not technically possible?

I recently changed hard drive on my MacBook 13 ". Because I felt it during the purchase of just one 160GB disk. After take all my PowerBook had a hard "only" 100GB, 160GB therefore would do the job well.

I spent ordering a Seagate 320GB. To server autonomy of the machine, I turned to 5400 rpm. A 7200 rpm is certainly more efficient, but above all I need space more than speed. Incidentally I recommend the seller: pc-look on Amazon. Fair price and excellent delivery, no complaints. Change disk drive is documented by Apple and you can do yourself me. Just take care to order a SATA 2.5 ".

Mactracker reported a compromise: 3 GB maximum would be recognized. "Mactracker provides detailed information on every Apple Macintosh computer ever made, including items such as processor speed, memory, optical drives, graphic cards, supported Mac OS versions, and expansion options. Also included is information on Apple mice, keyboards, displays, printers, scanners, digital cameras, iPod, Apple TV, iPhone, Wi-Fi Cards/Base Stations, Newton, and Mac OS versions."

You've probably never taken apart a MacBook hard drive there at all and for all five screws to unscrew and no clip. When you do not know, perhaps it is better to be silent. I'll suggest go to some hardware expert who has done this operation with macbook.

A few high speed RAM clock is not working properly on Macs. This is because the Mac will always look to the encoding of the RAM module for controlling the speed. If the codes are missing for low speed (667 MHz in your case), it works just the usual. you must use non-buffered DDR2 667 SO-DIMM modules.

Apple say it tops out at 2 GB only 3GB. Because they want you guessed RAM to help the GPU, and they do not want to advocate 4GB because the computer will only use 3.3GB, now I'm not saying this is a reason why Apple made.
