    iPhone 3GS overheating issues

From last several months i had been using iPhone 3GS. Just few days back i had upgraded v3.0 software on my iPhone 3GS. The rest of the work flawlessly. But after upgrading v3.0 software on my iPhone 3GS, i had been facing overheating issues. When i try to use my iPhone 3GS, it gives out an error message stating "iphone needs to cool down, before you can use it". So, can any one tell me that how do i resolve iPhone 3GS overheating issues? Does any one knows about it? Please help me out to resolve the above issue. Thanks.

For me, I had noticed from day one that the iPhone 3GS appeared to have similar heat issues to iPhone 3G: It occurred during prolonged GPS use, which also seems to run down the battery fairly quickly. The phone's back got warm during use. I thought it curious that handset still got warm in many of the same areas as with the 3G, in part because, Apple had specifically told me that the components inside were reconfigured as compared with the 3G model.

I have noticed the heating problem in my iPhone 3G too. Right now, my overheating issues aren't terribly serious, just surprising. I downloaded Apple's latest OS 3.0 version last week. Since then, I have downloaded and used a free GPS application(Motion X GPS Lite) from Apple's store. Computers need air circulation or they will overheat. I notice the back of the iPhone heating up considerably while using the GPS. Prolonged continous use of the for games or browsing also heats up the phone.

If true, these overheating issues may even end up in an exploding battery scandal. The real issues are the poor color saturation/contrast on the new screens and the horrible network performance of AT&T in NYC since push applications started hitting the streets.

It’s extremely rare for a cellphone battery to explode. If the unremovable battery or chipset on the iPhone is compromised by overheating, this may be a major problem for Apple. When a battery overheats, it’s getting a runaway reaction that produces gas, causing expansion to occur inside the sealed battery. This expansion puts pressure on components, damaging them and eventually killing the iPhone.

I have noticed my 2G iPod Touch getting a lot hotter than usual since updating to the v3.0 software. Remember to keep the phone between 32º and 95º F when using it or between -4º and 113º F when simply storing it and you should be fine. This happens while web browsing, and the battery is draining fast, too. That means you should let the phone cool down whenever you feel it’s too hot to play with.
