    ASUS G51VX-A1 keyboard problems

Just few days back i had bought a new ASUS G51VX-A1 system. Now the problem is that the keyboard characters '1', 'p' are not working properly. When I press them most of the time they do not work. Now the 'backspace' does not work at all. Before it did and then it got worse and worse and now not at all. When I press the 'p' and '1' key hard it will work. But I just try to copy and paste them. The number '1' on the number pad works fine. Can any body tell me that how do i resolve ASUS G51VX-A1 keyboard problems? Any one has any idea about it? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is also some flex to the keyboard in general, and the whole thing can, with some effort, be shifted a millimeter or so from side to side. I have the exact same issue, I have not removed or attempted to remove the keyboard due to voiding the warranty. Even with the flex, the keyboard is still easy to type on and the chiclet-style separated keys make mistakes less common.

I would recommend you to go to ASUS Service Center or try to contact their Technical Support. his happens for more commonly used characters. If the problem is due to loose or improper contact, you can try to fix the key back. Many keyboard problems can be software related.Remove and allow Windows to reinstall the keyboard, from control panels - system - hardware - device manager Right click uninstall and Windows will re-install it.

Your settings in Windows may also be the culprit in poor keyboard performance. Check the drivers if its a non-standard keyboard. Your keyboard could be rubbish, it just started doing this, or it been doing it since you got it?To check your keyboard performance, click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double click keyboard.

IT is the first chiclet keyboard that had been ever used so far, and it has a different feel than the other keyboards. If you are using a USB keyboard and it has extra USB ports try with nothing plugged into them. Many keyboards come with extra software for extra keys and buttons on the keyboard. Also try removing the keyboard ribbon, rub it with some isopropyl alcohol and put it back in. that may help the issue.
