Webcam issue of Dell XPS M1620 laptop

I have the dell XPS laptop and the model number of the laptop is Dell XPS M1620. This laptop is currently running on Windows Vista Operating System. All the other drivers and the software are working properly except the Webcam. The Webcam is not working of my Dell XPS laptop. The camera is malfunctioning. Please give me the ideas to resolve this problem.

The webcam is a device used to capture video when attached to a computer or computers on the network, using a USB port, ethernet or can be using Wi-Fi. The very Important use of webcam is video telephony. This is also used as with the messengers like yahoo messenger and windows live messenger. You can also record videos and take pictures from the Webcams.

You are saying that all the Other drivers and the Softwares of the hardwares are working properly. There is only problem with the Webcam. So, remove the Driver of the Webcam from the Dell XPS laptop and reinstall the driver properly. After the installation of the Driver software for the Webcam of your DELL XPS M1620 laptop reboot the system for once to take effect the settings. this will solve the problem of your webcam for sure.

You have the DISC of drivers for your DELL XPS laptop. Install the driver from this Disc. If the Webcam is not working after installing the Drivers from this disc. Then it may be the problem of the Operating system compatibility. You have mentioned that you are using the Windows Vista operating system in your laptop. Might be this version of the Driver of your webcam is not supported by this Operating system. So please download the Webcam driver of the DELL XPS M1620 which is supported by the Windows Vista OS. You can download it from the website of the DELL.

If the WEBCAM is not working after the installation of the drivers for Windows Vista OS then this may be the problem of the Webcam or the Laptop is not able to install the drivers properly. Do not install the driver from downloading the Driver software. You can also install the Drivers by another method. Go to the device manager and select your Webcam device and right click on that and select Update driver option. Now the Driver for Webcam will be installed and it will be ready for the use after the reboot of the DELL XPS laptop.

If the Webcam is not working by doing all of the above suggestions then this might be the webcam problem of the laptop. Take your laptop to the repairing center. First make the Webcam proper and after that install the driver for the Webcam on the Dell XPS M1620 laptop. If this does not resolves the problem then reinstall the Windows Operating system, this will surely resolve your problem.
