How to change text-tone on the iPhone3g?

Hi,
I have iphone 3G which is 3 months old. It has amazing features and it looks very descent. I don't have any problem in that except one, you can not change tone of the text message. It has only one in-built tone which is boring. Please can any body tell me how to change the text-tone with another one.

Yes you can change text-tone on the iPhone3g with your desired sound or music. You can use following steps to change the text-tone:
Open Menu -> then select Setting option -> then click on Sounds option -> click on "New text message" tab -> now select your desired tone -> now click Sounds option again -> now you can see your selected tone will appear next to "New text message".

It is not as difficult as you think. You can easily change the text-tone with another one. The first thing is that iphone only used .caf file format for playing text-tone. That's why you have to used tone of .caf format. You don't have to download any software for it, your iTunes application can convert that tone format into .caf format. After conveting it into .caf format you can easily change your iphone text-tone. You can change text-tone from "message tones" option.

No you can not change your in-built text-tone with your desired one. You have to used only one text-tone out of six that is in-built(likeTri-tone,Chime,Glass,Horn,Bell,Electronic). If you still want to change the text-tone then you can try transferring from iTunes or you can search other third application from apple store.
