When your running low on battery life, or you don't get a 3g connection in your area, improve your battery life by changing your network mode to GSM only. You could also have a rogue application thats not shutting itself down running in the background. 3g is best for internet use and is the best way to go for voice as well, but GSM ain't that bad for voice. If I'm not planning on using the internet and I'm running low on battery, I'd shut 3g off. This will stop your phone from searching constantly for a 3g signal that might not even exist in your area or be spotty.

Your problem could be GPS. Especially if you're using Garmin 5, try uninstalling it and returning to Garmin 4. I believe you can turn off the WCDMA 2100 portion by selecting "GSM only" or something like that. I'm guessing your E70 is constantly "looking" for that 3G signal by default. Some versions of Garmin 5 can kill the battery even when it's not running.

The battery drains so quickly because it maintains a constant connection to the network via a data uplink and downlink. Simply sitting idle in memory can sap power, so when you’ve finished using a program remember to switch it off. Meaning its like continuously talking on your mobile phone. With Push email, the device is constantly connecting to the network which means its downloading data (which is your email) on a regular basis. And thus is draining the battery faster.
