Why Nokia e71 made in china does not work in Canada

I need HELP.

I just bought a nokia e71 cell phone in Manila Philipines.
It has worked very well with my Rogers (Canada) SIM Card in Manila, in Bangkok also.

When I arrived in Canada, it did not work at all.
I have tried also a sim card from T-Mobile USA without success.

It displays always "no service".

If somebody has an idea please let me know.

I was also getting no service message with my mobile phone too, when i called up my service provider they told me i have to unlock my cell phone and then only i can use my Nokia e71 made in china phone work in Canada, to unlock Nokia cell phone check out below link it helped me a lot, hope it works for you too

I think savage forgot to reply here. But anyways, if you are having the same problem you can go with the solution provided by Simond. One of my friend was having the same problem. He unlocked his cell and everything got fixed. Just click on the above given link, download the unlock codes and follow the mentioned process.. It will work.

If you are sure you have the correct code to unlock your phone than move ahead with this tweak. Remove the SIM card out of the phone, insert the battery and power on the phone. You should get a message asking for the SIM card. Enter the code with all the characters provided to you. Once done you will get a message like "SIM is not restricted" or "Restriction off".
