Transfer files to camera memory card

    Dear all,

    My name's Raj. Joined today.

I am trying to transfer some YouTube files to my digital camera (Sony DSC-T9) memory and play it there ... have tried all I could think of, but nowhere near So here I am.

The T9 records movies in MPG format @ 30 frames/sec. So I downloaded a Youtube file, changed it from .FLV to .MPG and set frame rate @ 30 FPS. I also set the aspect ratio at 4:3 and resolution @ 640 x 480

I then copied the file to my memory card, but the camera didnt read it. Tried different MPEG formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, SVCD MPEG, SDVD MPEG), tried different frame rates, different resolutions .... nothing works

Has anyone tried ... and succeeded ?!

    Regards
    RT

Re: Transfer files to camera memory card

Transferring picture is a very simple process all you need is to get a card reader. Most memory cards, such as memory sticks and flash disks, can be treated as a removable disk. Then you place the memory card of your canon in the card reader and is the pc adapter. Look in the "my computer" folder and you should see a removable disk that wasn't there before. It will open on your pc as a pen-drive.

    Hi Adripathi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Are you saying that I can simply put my memory stick in the card reader slot ... and thats all?! Think you didnt understand my question ...

    1. I am trying to copy video files
    2. I am trying from my computer to my camera
    3. Files (video/audio/still) recorded by a camera have certain attributes and unless those attributes are imparted to the file that I want to transfer, the camera software will not read them.

Thats the key problem. I obviously have'nt got those attributes right.

But .... are you still sure that a simple card reader is the answer to all my problems?

    Regards
