How to use MP3 files as Ringtone for Blackberry Curve

Hi,

I have great success doing this for my LG Voyager but I cannot get any mp3 clips to playback on my Blackberry curve. How to use mp3 files as ringtone for blackberry curve. Do i have to buy one of those 3rd party apps? I was thinking that there should be a free way for me to do this right?Thank you for any help!

Well, I use USB cable to transfer mp3 files from pc to Blackberry via USB cable in Mass Storage Mode and simply use Windows Explorer to copy whatever mp3s. Put into the respective folders on the memory card. You can then browse to whatever mp3 you want when choosing your ringtone ! You can alos use a few different bitrates, but the vast majority of what I use is encoded using LAME at 160k minimum in true stereo mode.

Download the ringtones for Blackberry, as the others have mentioned, as long as the ringtones are wma or mp3 format, they will work with your Curve. Just be sure to put them into the ringtones folder, preferably on a data card. Then storing them on your phone's internal memory quickly. And then set it as ringtone.

You may have downloaded ringtones in the wrong format for the Blackberry to play. They need to be in .wav .mp3 .mp4. You must make sure the ringtones are blackberry compatible. I have tried Sound Forge for all of my editing needs, then save as wave file and convert to mp3 with CD-EX, which is also what I use for all my ripping needs as it is better than any other program I've used.
