How can i unlock my BlackBerry

My brother is having a Blackberry Curve 8300 and using it with the AT&T services. Now we have seen many users having unlocked Blackberry and using with their preferred GSM network. I think that is good to have unlocked smartphone. Do you guys have any idea how to unlock Blackberry Curve 8300 ? Please let me know if yes. Thank you .

To unlock your Blackberry phones you need a unlock code that you can get from your IMEI number. You will need to know your IMEI number for your BB. Look at Options, Status. The IMEI may also be found on the white sticker under the battery. Most providers use unlock codes which are generated from the BlackBerry's IMEI number. Many small companies exist which have taken the time and effort to crack the algorithms used to generate those unlock codes.

Once you get the Unlock code for your Blackberry just follow these steps on your Blackberry Curve 8300:-

Go to settings menu then tab on Options tha Advanced options and then select Sim card
Now you need to type MEPD using your Blackberry keyboard
Type MEP then [ALT BUTTON] then 2 on your Blackberry keyboard
Now you need to type in the unlock code in the a prompt "Enter Network MEP Code" and press in the track wheel to confirm Thats it.Your phone is now unlocked.

Many wireless carriers will tell you your unlock code if you meet their requirements. These requirements include being a regular customer for a minimum amount of time and having paid your bill. Most wireless providers are not charging for this service. Rogers is a significant exception, as they try to charge $ 250 of their customers for this service extortion. All you need is to send them your 15 digit IMEI number and they will send you the code & instructions to instantly unlock your phone.
