Blackberry Curve does not recognize media card

I have the blackberry curve 8310. Blackberry Curve does not recognize media card. It doesn't ask me to format it, when i'm on my phone and go to Options> Media Card: It says "A media card is not presently inserted in the device. To anyone that has some suggestions, you'd be highly appreciated. How I think that the media card format ..?
