If you take Dell Mini 9 with 8 Gb, when you install XP, it uses 1.5GB of install space so subtract that. The 8GB drive doesn't leave you much open space once the operating system and the preinstalled software are accommodated. There is a common misconception about the Hard Drive space you are getting and the hard drive space you have. 4GB goes really quick in add page file, applications, updates, etc.

I just can't say what will be the best bang for buck but I can tell you that 4GB is too tight for comfort. It can be done, but it is uncomfortable. And with Dell mini 8GB, you have much room for the House of Windows XP, applications, etc.8GB is more than enough. For additional material such as information, media files, etc. you can use flash drives or whatever that work well with slower mass storage. For $40 more, you can upgrade to a 16GB drive, but then you've crossed the magic $500 threshold.

Thanks a lot guys, that is all i wanted to know. I think i must go with the 8GB, that will be even cheaper as well. I heard that with Dell Mini 9 8GB, when you are on the go, you can still have access to email, shopping. Thats really nice with affordable price. Thanks for the quick help.
