How to take digital photo backup

I have sony cybershot digital camera and i have taken almost 2 GB images stored in it, I have doubt if anything goes wrong then my all photos stored on the digital camera will go and i don't want that to happen with me, so i need to have the strong solution about where should i keep my images or to take backup of my digital camera.

I backup my pics to a second (internal) hard drive and every blue moon, I copy them to a CD. A web site style photo album, can also be easily included on your photo backup disc that allows you to browse through the disc's contents. Photo Backup is a software that doesn't force you into doing things it's way. Instead, it gives you the tools to manage your digital photo archive like you prefer.

Here you can follow any one of the following method to backup your images.

1. Copy from card to HD, then copy originals (full size) to 2 different CDs. Don't want shots of young Wolfie (son) to disappear. I plan to move to DL DVDs next burn.
   
2. Compress files on HD to a web-friendly size so I have a reference and know which folder on which CD I can pull original from.
   
3. Manually copy (drag and drop) your images onto a CD or DVD at regular intervals.
   
4. Use a backup program to regularly copy your photos and other important files to another hard disk, an optical disc in a CD-RW or rewritable DVD drive, or another storage option
