Disable text messaging feature on Verizon

I am using Verizon Mobile phone with me and i don't know some of my friends are sending me lots of sms on my number whenever i am in meeting and when i am at my home my brother is also using my phone to send sms to his friends. I have really got irritated with this. When i told my one of my friend about this he told me to disable text messaging feature. Does anyone know how to do it then please reply. Thanks in Advance.

If you want to disable text messaging service then in that case you need to call your Carrier and tell them that you should not receive or sent any messages. This would be activated within 24 hours and after which you won't be able to receive any text messages.

There is no need to call any number you can directly login to vtext.com and you can block any numbers numbers from texting. If you want to activate it to specific number you can also do that too. For confirming it you can still call customer service (*611) and have the feature completely blocked.
